Stayza feature guide
Availability freshness: why confirmations expire
An availability label is useful only when you know how recent it is. Stayza shows confirmation age and stops presenting a report as current after 14 days without an owner reconfirmation.
A report has a limited lifetime
An owner can confirm available, limited or full. Once that confirmation is more than 14 days old, its effective status becomes unconfirmed. The listing can remain visible; it is the availability assertion that expires. Unconfirmed does not mean the property is full.
Expected opening dates are not promises
A full listing may include an expected available-from date. When that date arrives or passes, the status becomes unconfirmed until the owner updates it. Stayza does not infer a vacancy from a calendar date, because the previous occupant's plans may have changed.
Example: choosing when to contact a host
A listing confirmed available yesterday is a recent owner report, while an old confirmation becomes unconfirmed after the freshness window. Both still need a direct conversation about your exact room and dates. Availability freshness is separate from the date of a video review or physical inspection.
How to use it
- Look for the confirmation age beside availability.
- If the report has expired, ask the owner for a current update.
- Confirm your specific room even when the listing has a recent available label.
Common questions
Does the listing disappear when availability expires?
The freshness rule changes the availability status to unconfirmed. It does not itself delete the property listing.
Does a future opening date automatically trigger an availability alert?
No. The owner needs to report fresh available or limited availability. A date alone does not establish an opening.
